Ever since I was little I have loved being creative. I remember that as a child I was always drawing and coloring, or modeling with clay. I've always had a very vivid imagination that manifested itself in exciting play adventures and later on in story writing. I could express my emotions in a diary and in writing poems.
However, due to 'the hustle and bustle of everyday life', this has all faded into the background. As an adult I stood in life as a mother, partner, employee, housewife and there was little time left for myself. Every now and then I took refuge in reading a good book or watching an exciting series or movie, but I increasingly missed that creative outlet.
Jewelry, especially earrings, has always attracted my attention. They can be a nice addition to your outfit, an ideal way to make a personal statement.
But like many, I faced several problems: it was not the color I was looking for, the shape was not quite my thing, the earrings were too long or just too short, the price was too high,... And on top of that: What is the fun in wearing jewelry that hundreds or even thousands of other people are showing off?!
And so my interest arose to get started with making jewelry myself. I did research into which materials exist, how they are processed, what the quality is. Along the way I learned basic techniques and soon I had my very first jewelry display filled with cheerful creations of my own.
What started as a fun hobby quickly became a real passion, and this did not go unnoticed. More and more people gave me compliments and asked if I ever sold handmade jewelry.
And so, on October 1, 2014, 'Keelin Design' was born...
